First day in Haiti

It amazes me how much this place reminds me of Israel... We r in a place with few tents surrounded by a barbwire. Ironically, it actually made me feel comfortable.

I spent all pm shift at the end. Assisted with pleurocentesis and intubation. Volunteered to be on call for the night shift. Apparently the ER here works only until 10 pm. Felt like I couldn't fall asleep and ended up roaming the hospital looking for things to do. Or called for an IV start, and got many complements for handling a difficult situation. Placed a foley cath and now have earned the respect of my peers -)

This group is really awesome and consists of many very well trained very nice professionals -)

I am so fortunate and it's officially the coolest thin that I've ever done -)

  2. Nothing works better than barbwire, sand bags and good defensive skills when you have to stay in a tent. You're doing fantastic job Nataly, All of us in the class are so proud of you. Keep safe
