UCSF is organizing a team of physicians and health care professionals to join the University of Miami's medical relief in Haiti for the week of March 20-28. The University of Miami has established a 330 bed tent hospital in Port au Prince and are requesting help with staffing. They been coordinating the deployments, and volunteers are flown from Miami to Port au Prince via military transport planes. See this week's NEJM article on their efforts attached above.

Here is my plan:
Israeli embassy agreed to expedite my passport and I can pick it up on the 17th from the San Francisco office.
I am scheduled to get all the vaccinations next Monday (8th) at the UCSF student center.
This way I am ready to go. I have to arrive in Miami at least 3 hours before 7AM on March 20th when we are flown to Haiti with the military. I am scheduled to return to Maimi at 1pm March 28th.
University of Miami made a group flight discount with American Airlines of 5%. I booked a flight to depart from SFO on the 19th at noon. I’ll get to MIA at 8 pm and will camp at the airport until the morning.

If anybody else is interested in going you need to have a valid medical license and a valid passport.
To volunteer you need to register at http://secure.med.miami.edu/Volunteer_for_Haiti/
