The UCSF group

The staff was amazing. UCSF group made an amazing impression on the rest of the group. Children’s Hospital in LA provided an amazing care to the pediatric patients. Overall it seemed like we were overstaffed this week and the specialties were not proportional to the need. For the last five days of our stay there was no single OBGYN or midwife who could deliver a baby, while throughout the whole week we had 15 ER nurses. The need for ER nurses was maybe five per day. On the day we left, there was more than 100 of us leaving and only 30 coming in. This means that during the following week the hospital was ridiculously short staffed.
Overall there were more MDs than RNs. I repeatedly found myself in the ED as an only nurse with few MDs around me... anywhere from one to four :) Heaven!
